summary: Kaakapo Rescue, is a heartwarming story of scientists rescuing the
Kakapo Parrot. It describes the life of the Kakapo Parrot on the island of New
Zealand, the Kakapo is a 9 pound, flightless bird that nests under the earths
soil. The story proceeds by telling us how scientists help these birds survive
and reproduce to keep their species alive. There is currently less than 100
Kakapo Parrots living and it is our duty to educate children and adults as well
as we can to preserve these creatures.

Description of how you would use the
book with students: Kakapo Rescue, is a wonderful chapter book filled with
outstanding photos. I would be able to use this book in my classroom to teach
students about endangered species. If I were to have a project for them to
present to me an endangered species this book would be on the list.
